Nevada gaming revenue increased across the state in May 2026, with Reno recording stronger growth than Las Vegas. The northern market achieved record tourism figures while the Strip saw a decline in air traffic.

Strip gaming revenue reached $807.8 million, a 13% year-over-year increase. Baccarat contributed $174.3 million to this total, up 59% from the previous May. The state's overall gaming revenue is currently 2.7% ahead of the prior year's pace.
Total visitation to Las Vegas reached just under 3.5 million, a 2% increase. Occupancy rates rose 2%, while average daily rates and revenue per available room on the Strip grew by 6% and 10% respectively. However, Harry Reid International Airport reported a passenger count of 4.5 million, an 8% drop from last year.
International traffic has declined 12% year-to-date.
Reno Market Performance
Reno generated $70.5 million in gaming revenue for May, an 11% increase. The market is currently 6% ahead of last year's pace, the highest growth among Nevada's major regions. Reno-Tahoe International Airport saw spring air traffic rise 4%, marking the highest passenger counts for April and May in nearly two decades.
Airlines added approximately 45,000 roundtrip seats to accommodate demand.
Convention and group business in Reno increased 14% year-to-date. Taxable room revenue hit a record $52.6 million in April, followed by a 17% rise in visitor counts and a 27% jump in room revenue in May. Mike Larragueta, CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe, stated that tourism remains a major economic driver for the community.
